For 4 days the Greek capital celebrates food! Taste of Athens, brings the best restaurants, food and drink brands of the city together and invites its guests to get to discover them through immersive experiences. From cooking lessons by world-class chefs, to wine tastings and cocktail preparation classes, Taste of Athens offers numerous experiences that inspire, educate and entertain.

Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of a luxurious picnic that will mark the end of the summer on the calendars of foodies everywhere. Enjoy a range of free activities and interactive experiences such as wine tastings, cocktail-making seminars and cooking classes.

Great news for foodies passing through Athens in late September: you can sample dishes from the city’s brightest culinary stars at affordable prices all in the one place. Fancy favourites Spondi and Hytra (both Michelin-starred icons) are among the 40 restaurants taking part in Taste of Athens.

Athens’ best restaurants in one place

Sample signature dishes from the latest, greatest and most exciting restaurants, as well as off-menu items they’ve created exclusively for Taste.

To name a few of them: Varoulko Seaside – the first restaurant in Greece to initiate fish as the star of haute cuisine!, Balthazar Bar/Restaurant – the first to introduce the term “bar restaurant” in Greece, Vezené Restaurant – a Greek inspired bistro, serving regional dishes motivated from personal views on local traditions, Psomi & Alati Restaurant – great performance in Greek comfort food cuisine, Fuga – cosmopolitan air and a tropical cuisine!, Hytra Restaurant – harmonious and complementary coexistence of two different approaches around the meaning of Greek food, Spondi – the two-Michelin-starred Spondi and its Mediterranean haute cuisine.

Taste Talks

An unexpected series of thought-provoking discussions providing rare insight into the food industry, its people and their success stories. Taste Talks invited unique contributors from the food and beverage industry to share their stories and engage in an intimate conversation with a small audience.

Chef Pascal Aussignac

Taste of Athens has the honor and the privilege to host one of the biggest stars of the French gastronomic scene with so many distinctions in his career. One Michelin star for his crown restaurant Club Gascon from 2002 until today, “best chef” in 2013 and many other awards, ladies and gentlemen we proudly present the amazing French chef Pascal Aussignac!

Chef Herve Deville

Executive Head Chef Hervé Deville, (previously Executive Head Chef under three Michelin starred Pierre Gagnaire at Sketch Mayfair for seven years) leads Momo’s kitchen with his wealth of experience and culinary excellence. His menu combines the perfect balance of light Mediterranean dishes with hints of North African flavors, and showcases the best of classic and modern cooking techniques.

Chef Asimakis Chaniotis

Born and raised in Athens, a city full of history and art, from a young age he was very interested and involved in street art and whilst his interest for food started to become a dream of a career, art really inspired him and helped him develop as a young commis and chef in the kitchens he worked in.

Chef Constadina Kontesopoulou

She did her first steps as a trainee chef at “Pegasus Rhodos” and at the “Peninsula Elounda” restaurants. Under the training of Chef John Baxevanis, she continued to deal with the culinary industry at the Ferryman restaurant located in Elounda, with the “6 Keys” restaurant, and with the “Princess Kyniska Suite”! At the same time she worked with the “L’ restaurant ‘auberge De Lill’, located in France, which has been awarded with 3 Michelin Stars!

Chef Gogo Delogianni

Chef Gogo Delogianni has studied law at Komotini Law School and has worked in this job for about 8 years. She decided she was ready for the big change so, she has been cooking for a living for four years now and has been living on it. Her great love is Mediterranean food, with a clear preference for Greek and Italian traditional cuisine. She considers it an honor and a great investment to cook for everyone, just like her loved ones.

Celebrity Chef Matchups by Dine Athens

Thursday 19 and Friday 20 September 2019

Taste of Athens is pleased and honored to host one of the biggest stars of the London gastronomic scene with countless distinctions in its palmar. A Michelin star award for Club Gascon restaurant and many more awards such as ‘Chef of the Year’ in 2013, the distinguished Chef Pascal Aussignac arrives in Athens for just two nights!

With him, Hervé Deville, former Executive Head Chef under three-star Michelin star Pierre Gagnaire, in the multi-shot “Sketch” in London’s Mayfair! The chef who now leads the also London-based, historic “Momo” will be in Zappeion exclusively for Celebrity Chef Matchups by Dine Athens.

The menu is provided at a discounted rate as part of the Taste of Athens event. Price includes 6-course menu. Fine wine labels are also offered for an extra charge.
