Greece will close all its museums and archaeological sites until the end of the month due to the impact of the coronavirus, its culture ministry said on Friday 12.
The Greek Ministry of Culture decided on Friday to close all museums and archaeological sites in the country as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus. In a statement, the Ministry said on Friday that due to the special conditions there is a shortage of guards and therefore it decided to closed archaeological sites and museums in consultation with the Panhellenic Federation of Guards. The decision is valid until March 30.
Separately, the Hellenic Olympic Committee on Friday decided to suspend the remainder of the Olympic Torch relay through the country to avoid attracting crowds because of the coronavirus.
